| Reading and Literature | Seventh Grade |
Seventh grade readers are sometimes a skeptical bunch. Although there will be a few who will enjoy reading still, because of all the hormonal changes raging in their bodies, they will often prefer to experiment with their newfound awareness than read.
Boys will sometimes engage in a very primitive dominance contest while girls will often enter cliques and exclusive friends groupings which will change with the wind. The educator will have to pay particular attention to the reading selections to keep their interest.
Generally, stories with themes of emotional drama appeal to girls and adventure stories appeal to boys. There are not a lot of those types of stories out there with a Muslim flavor that have been translated into English or written originally. We will update this list as we find them or write more ourselves.
