Reading and Literature Eighth Grade

    The mayhem of seventh grade is passed.  Eighth graders will slowly enter the mind-set of adult thinkers.  Though some may resist longer than others.  Full length short stories and novellas and the occasional novel are the preferred reading choices.

    Subject matter must be more sophisticated.  Bear that in mind.   From here upwards we see fewer and fewer Muslim-flavored choices currently available.

The Man Who Counted Malba Tahan AWAIR Muslim-oriented math adventures about a scholar and his math mysteries.  Give this book to the math teacher to give as story problems.
The Story of Layla and Majnun Nizami Omega Publishers A famous tale similar to Romeo and Juliet but taking place in the Muslim world.  It is filled with references to Islam and all the characters are Muslims.
