There are many "Qur'an"
learning books on the Muslim market that claim to be "student
friendly" or "all encompassing for Islamic schools."
If you've looked at a lot of
books that state this claim, you'll see that each one is lacking something.
The Holy Qur'an for School Children: Part 30-Juz 'Amma, makes no such false
claims. It simply is the best book for schools, converts and learners of
the Holy Qur'an.
From the very beginning the
reader notices something different about this book: the graphics. For some
people this may not be important, but for children, it is. They get to see
illustrations matched with the words on the page. The pictures are neither
overpowering to the text, nor do they illustrate any of the prophets (p).
The graphics merely enhance
the beauty of the words by showing the majesty of mountains and landscapes. This
materializes the meaning of the ayat for some children; however, it is merely a
small step in the large strides that this book has taken.
In addition to the graphics, a
reader is provided with review questions after each Surah, an activity that
enhances the message of the Surah, the full and clear Arabic text with
vocabulary words and a simple to read transliteration. Just try to make a
mistake reciting an ayah after studying this easy to follow transliteration.
Yet, the most important part of the book is the main reason for its purchase,
the words.
It's very difficult to find a
translation that facilitates the understanding of the Holy Qur'an. The Holy
Qur'an for School Children: Part 30-Juz 'Amma comes very close. Students of
all ages will finally be able to read a translation that is written in crisp,
clear American English. After all, what good is a message if you don't
know what it means?
