Hadith About the Major Sins and Hypocrisy

1. The major sins are associating other objects of worship with Allah, disobedience to parents, murder, and deliberate perjury.
(Bukhari, Muslim).

2. There are three signs of a hypocrite: when he speaks he speaks lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is trusted he betrays his trust.
(Bukhari).

3. Avoid the seven hateful things. (1) Associating anything with Allah, (2) magic,(3) killing one whom Allah has declared inviolate without a just cause, (4) devouring usury, (5) consuming the property of an orphan, running back from the battlefield and, (7) slandering chaste women who are believers but indiscreet.
(Bukhari, Muslim).

4. Four characteristics constitute anyone who possesses them a sheer hypocrite, and anyone who possesses one of them possesses a characteristic of hypocrisy till he abandons it: when he is trusted he betrays his trust, when he talks he lies, when he makes a covenant he acts treacherously and when he argues, he does so abusively.
(Bukhari, Muslim).
