1.
What Islam is All About. By Yahiya Emerick. Available from
IFNA. Perhaps the most complete
general survey of Islamic knowledge available in one book. This book is
part of the curriculum in over 50 Islamic schools and countless Weekend
schools. It has recently been accepted in the da'wah teaching class at Al
Azhar university in Cairo, Egypt.
2. Revitalisation of the Sciences of Religion. (Ihya Ulum ud Din) By Imam Al Ghazali. Abridged and translated by Abd El-Salam Haroun and Ahmad Zidan. Available from halalco. This is the definitive, classical work on Islam and how to understand all the facets of belief and practice. This book is a much better translation that previous versions with much improved English.
3. The Qur'an An Abiding Wonder. By Maulana Wahiduddin Khan.
4. The Muslim Prayer Encyclopedia. By Ruqaiyah Waris Maqsood.
5. God Arises. By Maulana Wahiduddin Khan. Probably the best treatise on Islam and its relationship to science that I have ever had the pleasure to read.
